The first swim meet for the Revelstoke Aquaducks held this past weekend in Salmon Arm was an absolute success. Bringing 40 swimmers to the meet, the Aquaducks managed to place third over all in the Okanagan region. Best times were seen throughout the meet by both junior and senior swimmers.

Aggregate medals were awarded as follows:

— Kenadie Stefura, third, Div. 1 girls;

— Autumn Griffith-Doyle, second, Div 2 girls;

— Kayln Gale, first, Div. 3 girls;

— Devyn Gale, second, Div. 4 girls;

— Alex Jay, first, Div. 4 boys;

— Brynn Hoshizaki, second, Div. 5 girls;

— Nolan Gale, second, Div. 5 boys;

— James LeBuke, third, Div. 5 boys;

— Beth Granstrom, first, Div. 6 girls.

— Logan Marcolli, third, Div. 6 boys;

A few swimmers had the difficult task of becoming seniors this year, which means longer races. Megan Hoshizaki, Tye Hoshizaki, Hunter Stewardson, Devyn Gale, and Alex Jay took this challenge on with excitement and swam very strongly.

James Lebuke broke a meet record (however short-lived) for the 100 metre backstroke in a time of 1:08.80.

Several brave ducklings took to the water for their first competitions ever. Congratulations to Miller Painter, Ben Morrow, Selwyn Wilkey, Hamish Woodman, Fiona Woodman, Rylee Maddison, and Veronica Ast.

This weekend the team heads to Lumby for their second meet of the summer in pursuit of more best times and medals.
