With half of last years players moving on to Junior A or college hockey, Grizzly fans will see new line ups this hockey season.
The club is excited to have a group of young talented players, said head coach Ryan Parent.
“All the guys we have in now can play, it becomes a performance thing and we will just see where it fits,” he said.
The team played four pre-season games against Nelson and Columbia Valley with their home opener coming up on Sept. 14.
Parent said the teams were strong and good for testing the waters, though he has yet to see a championship won in the pre-season.
“The indicator I was looking for was improvement through the four games and I think we saw that,” he said.
The team played Columbia Valley on Aug. 28 in Invermere, winning 4-1. They played Nelson in Nelson on Aug. 31 and won 3-1. On Sept. 1 they played Nelson again, this time in Revelstoke, and lost 3-2. On Sept. 4 Columbia Valley came to the Forum and the Grizzlies won 6-2.
In their first game of the regular season on Sept. 14, the Grizzlies will play Castlegar.
Parent added that the organization is currently looking for volunteers.
