Revelstoke’s Casey Brown was the second fastest woman at this weekend’s Enduro World Series race in Bariloche, Argentina.

It was the first time racing on the EWS circuit for the former World Cup downhill mountain biker, and she proved capable of maintaining her high speeds on six race stages over the course of two days.

The race was won by Cecile Ravanel, who beat Brown by just over a minute.

Revelstoke was also represented at the race by Stu Dickson, who finished in 36th place amongst the pro men.

Brown found herself in third spot after the first day of racing on Saturday, finishing third, fourth and third over the first three stages.

On Sunday, she kept almost even with Ravanel, finishing just behind her in stages four and five and winning the sixth and final stage of the weekend.

Brown switched to enduro from downhill this year after signing with Trek Factory Racing during the winter. She missed the first EWS race of the season in Chile last weekend due to illness.

For Dickson, the result was an improvement on the first race of the season in Chile, where he finished 48th. The 20-year-old, who was born and raised in Revelstoke, is racing for Devinci this year.
