Four events into the Symetra Tour women’s golf season, Kelowna’s Samantha Richdale sits in second place on the 2016 money list.
In three starts, Richdale has earned $30,476, placing her behind only Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom ($56, 214) in earnings this season.
Richdale’s first Symetra Tour win since 2009 came on April 10 at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic, earning her $26,250.
She finished with a 3-under par 69 to win by one stroke.
The top 10 players at season’s end will earn exempt status on the LPGA Tour for 2017.
“My ultimate goal is to get better status on the LPGA,” Richdale said following her win in Florida.
Her only fully exempt season on the LPGA Tour was 2010, earning her card with a fourth-place finish on the Symetra Tour—then known as Duramed Futures—in 2009.
Richdale, 31, is now second all-time in career winnings on the Symetra Tour.
The next tour stop is May 5 to 8 in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Meawnhile, another Kelowna golfer, Megan Osland, is in her first season on the Symetra Tour. The KSS grad has yet to make a cut in four starts.
