The Rides of March is that time of year when longer days and warming temperatures cause locals to seek out their trusted two-wheel friends.
Tires are pumped and chains are oiled in anticipation of that first joyful ride as you and your bike flow over one of our sweet single tracks.
Unfortunately, winter’s tenacity and snow bound trails make this effort ephemeral, resulting in an annual exodus of these same Goldenites to points south and beyond.
They will return bronzed and bruised and looking for more, only to find our local trails still, to be covered with a blanket of crusty snow.
Fortunately the Golden Cycling Club anticipates the resulting angst and will, once again, host the GCC Events Night.
The second annual GCC Events Night will take place on Thursday, April 4, in the Golden Civic Centre. Admission is free and the pizza and beverages are cheap. The club will give its State of Our Trails synopsis, providing you with details of the coming season. And, since Golden’s trails belong to everyone, whatever your mode of human powered travel, you will be welcome.
