The Ridge Meadows Flames split their weekend games, beating the North Vancouver Wolf Pack 5-4 on Friday, but losing to the Abbotsford Pilots 4-3 on Saturday.
Halen Cordoni had a hat trick and four points on Friday night at home, while captain Andrew Strelezki had a goal and two assists. Brandon Galbraith had the other Flames goal, while Bradley Crompton had two assists. Goaltender Paul Tucek got the win in net, with 25 saves on 29 shots.
On Saturday night in Abbotsford, the Flames faced a back-and-forth affair against the Pilots. The home team took a 2-1 lead after the first period, the Flames scored twice in the second to go up 3-2, but then the Pilots tied it up midway through the third, and won on a late goal.
Cordoni and Crompton each had a goal and an assist, and rookie Ryan MacDonald got his second goal of the season.
The Flames are back in action on Thursday at the North Surrey Rec Centre when they take on the Surrey Knights, and on Friday host the Aldergrove Kodiaks, who are sitting at the top of the league standings with the record of 17-5. That game goes at 7:30 p.m. at Cam Neely Arena.
