The Aldergrove Kodiaks, first place in the Pacific Junior Hockey League, beat the Ridge Meadows Flames 4-3 on Friday night at Cam Neely Arena in Maple Ridge.
The Flames trailed 3-1 after two periods, but blueliner Ryan Wellburn scored on the power play early in the third, and then team captain Andrew Strelezki pulled the Flames even with a shorthanded goal.
The Kodiaks David Padgham scored with just 24 seconds left in regulation to give Aldergrove the win.
Paul Georgeopolous was the other scorer for the Flames.
Quinncy Leroux had a goal and an assist for the Kodiaks, while Elijah Vilio and Kyle Bosko also scored.
With the win, the Kodiaks improve to 29-6 on the season, while the Flames are .500 with a record of 16-16-2-2, and in third place in the Harold Brittain Conference.
The Flames host the Delta Ice Hawks on Friday, Jan. 20 at Planet Ice.
