The Ridge Meadows men’s rugby team is making a serious charge for first place in their division.
The squad knocked off previously undefeated Burnaby in convincing fashion, then beat first-place Abbotsford last Saturday in a come-from-behind victory 28-22.
Down 12-0, the Ridge squad’s comeback was led by Dustin Fletcher, who scored three tries, and the kicking of Miller Thind with four converts to secure the victory.
Things don’t get any easier for the locals as they play the Rowing club on Saturday at Thomas Haney at 11:30 a.m.
The ladies team will also battle Burnaby for first place also at Thomas Haney, starting at 10 a.m.
