Rivermen, Spruce Kings down to best-of-three

Langley regains home-ice advantage over Prince George with game four victory in BCHL best-of-seven playoff series

It is down to a best-of-three between the Langley Rivermen and Prince George Spruce Kings.

The junior A hockey clubs have alternated wins and losses over the first four games of the BCHL Mainland Division semifinal series.

Prince George won games one and three, 1-0 and 4-2, while Langley took games two and four 4-2 and 4-1.

In the most recent game on Saturday night in Prince George, Hunter Anderson scored twice while Braydon Barker and Will Campion had a goal apiece to even the series up at two games apiece.

Bo Didur only had to make 15 saves as the Rivermen allowed just 16 Spruce Kings shots.

Game three looked like it was destined for overtime as Anderson and Ryan Coulter scored less than two minutes apart to tie the score at two in the third period. But with less than three minutes to play, Cole Todd struck for the winner with Chad Staley adding an empty-net goal,

Game five was last night at the Langley Events Centre after The Times’ press deadline with game six set for tonight back in Prince George.

If necessary, game seven would be tomorrow (Wednesday) night at the George Preston Recreation Centre.
