Rockets close homestand with win over Giants

Kole Lind and Tomas Soustal each scored their 10th goals of the season as the Kelowna Rockets downed the Vancouver Giants 5-3 Friday in WHL action at Prospera Place.

The Rockets (12-10-0) closed out their four-game homestand with a 2-2 record.

Dillon Dube, with his first of the season, Kyle Topping and Cal Foote also scored for Kelowna. Calvin Thurkauf and Nick Merkley each had a pair of assists.

Brodan Salmond earned the win in net with the Rockets outshooting Vancouver 37-31.

Kelowna was 1-for-6 on the power play while Vancouver scored twice on six chances.

The Rockets will travel Victoria for a pair of games, meeting the Royals Sunday and Tuesday, before they return to Kelowna to take on the Regina Pats next Saturday night.
