Chilliwack’s Ethan Bowen has been selected in the second round of the Western Hockey League’s bantam draft.
The Kelowna Rockets nabbed the teenager with the 39th overall pick.
Through six rounds he is the only Chilliwack native who’s been selected.
Bowen, a five-foot-11 and 157 pound center, spent the 2016-17 season with the Yale Hockey Academy bantam prep team where he collected 33 goals and 62 points in 29 regular season games.
Bowen’s older brother Ryan was a fifth round selection of the Moose Jaw Warriors in the 2013 WHL draft and has just completed his second full season of major junior hockey.
He now plays for the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
