The Golden Rockets put forth an aggressive attempt to overcome the Revelstoke Grizzlies on Friday night, but were unable to cinch the win.

Multiple penalties were called in the first period against the Rockets, and the Revelstoke Grizzlies were able to get only one goal in. Revelstoke got another goal in shortly after the start of the second period. Following some debate from the referees, the Rockets got their first goal in against the Grizzlies, by Turner with an assist from Trimmer and Egan. By the end of the period, the Grizzlies scored another on the Rockets.

The team fought back hard against the Grizzlies, and got very physical against the opposing team, and Turner was able to score another goal against their opponent, unassisted, bringing the score up 5-2. The Revelstoke Grizzlies were able to kick in one final goal before the end of the game.

On Saturday night, the Golden Rockets travelled to face off against the Fernie Ghostriders.

In the first period, the Rockets were unable to sink any goals on the Ghostriders, with Fernie scoring two against Golden.

The Ghostriders scored again in the second period, but Golden followed it up with a score against them by Wareham, assisted by Turner and Krause. Shortly after, the Rockets scored another goal by Turner, with an assist from Trimmer, ending the second period 3-2 for the Ghostriders.

In the third period, the Golden Rockets pulled their goalie to try to tie up the game against Fernie, but were unable to sink the final goal, ending the game with the Ghostriders taking victory 3-2.

On Friday, October 5, the Golden Rockets travel to Spokane, WA to take on the Spokane Braves. The following day, they head back into B.C. and over to play against the Grand Forks Border Bruins.

“It’s a good opportunity to get on the road and win in some tough buildings,” said Rockets head coach Jeremy Blumes, adding that travelling so far presents a different kind of challenge for the players. “It’s a long day on a bus.”
