Rockets’ rookie camp opens up

The Kelowna Rockets open theirWestern Hockey League five-day rookie training camp Wednesday at the Capital News Centre.

That will be followed by the team’s main training camp Aug. 27-30, at Prospera Place.

The Rockets begin the preseason schedule Friday, Aug. 31 when they visit the Vancouver Giants.

The same two teams meet the next night in Kelowna.

The Rockets play a home-and-home series with the Victoria Royals, starting Friday, Sept. 7 on Vancouver Island.

Kelowna rounds out the exhibition season Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Spokane Chiefs. First league game goes Friday, Sept. 21 at the Kamloops Blazers.
