Rockets’ Three Stars: Viberg shuts the door on the opposition

Magnus Viberg led the Rockets to another stellar weekend which saw the club earn five of a possibly six points across three games.

1. Magnus Viberg

A perfect Saturday night performance highlighted a rock solid weekend for the Rockets goaltender. Making 41 saves, Viberg earned his first career shutout against the Spokane Braves, and was just as good, if not better, the following afternoon in an OT loss to the Kelowna Chiefs. Also earned the win on Friday against division rival Kimberley.

2. Braeden Allkins

A pretty easy choice for top spot among skaters, as the Rockets veteran pitched in 3 goals and 4 assists, including a pair of markers against Kimberley and a 4 assist game against Spokane. Seems to be gelling nicely with newcomer Matthew Krusky as his centre.

3. Nic Noseworthy

Played a big role for the Rockets at both ends of the ice, mixing two goals and an assist with steady defensive play in his own zone. The entire defence played two of its best games of the season against Kimberley and Spokane, and the penalty kill looks to be coming on strong of late.
