The Rodeo bucked through Vanderhoof last weekend.
Gold pan resident Steve Hohman was the only rider up top in the saddle bronc, taking both first and second.
Clayton Honybourn from Quesnel, took the big purse in tie-down roping. Lee Rombough out of Sexsmith took second, followed by Steve Lloyd riding out of Quesnel.
Sandy Denton out of Kamloops, took the top honours in bareback on the (bare)back of Sonny Dee. She also tied for second on the back of Kitty Hawk with Daine Bortolussi from Dawson Creek, riding Ford Cobra in third.
Naramata-native Luke Simonin was the best steer wrangler, taking top honors in steer wrestling, followed by Rob Everett, riding out of 150 Mile House.
In breakaway roping Ellis Smith from Williams Lake, took the top spot, followed by Charlie Soffel, out of Vanderhoof. Kyle Bell out of Houston, rounded out the top three.
Troy Gerard out of Savona, found his way to the top in jr. breakaway roping. Vanderhoof native Cole Spiers took second, followed by Dyson LeNeve out of Quesnel taking third.
Laura James of Kamloops found her way to the top in ladies barrel racing, followed by Savona’s Joleen Seitz in second and Williams Lake’s Madison Smith in third.
The top riders in junior barrel racing was an all Quesnel affair, with McKenzie Wills taking first, Brett Wills second and Taylor Cherry third.
A couple of Quesnel riders tied on top in junior steer riding. Clay Waterhouse and Kyle Bell split the top spot. Tyler Cherry and Tyler Lang, riding out of Vanderhoof, tied for 3/4.
The Prince George/Vanderhoof team of Sandy Suter and Jason Beier tied with the 150 Mile House/Quesnel team of Allison Everet and Jeff Wills in team roping. The Cache Creek team of Neal Antoine and Archie Williams took third.
In pee wee barrel racing, Elly Farmer from Savona took the top spot, followed by Kaitlyn Lulua from Nemiah Valley in second and LeNeve rounding out the top three.
Cowgirls and Cowboys are back in action at the PWRA/BCRA rodeo in Grande Coulee, Washington, May 10 – 11 and then in Princeton, May 11 – 12.
