The South Okanagan Roller Derby Association is hosting an information session Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. in the ballroom of the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

The evening will consist of a league introduction, a summary of their operations, the value of community support in roller derby, plus video footage/demonstrations of the rules of the game, penalties, and exciting derby techniques.

A second session and recruitment program will be held on Feb. 21 at the PTCC at 6:30 p.m. The second night will be active skating, and participants are encouraged to make the previous Thursdays information night to get sized up for gear, and have all the necessary paperwork completed. RSVP’s must be sent to sordameat@gmail.comfor the second night as there is limited skating gear available.

They encourage all members of the public to attend. Loyal fans, the curious, business owners looking for unique exposure and potential skaters.

The Pistoleras are training hard for a great 2017 season, and they want you to have an opportunity to join. They are scheduled to hit the track for their first bout of the season in April.
