Kale Wareham, defense for the Golden Rockets has been playing hockey since he was about four years old, and is a driven and hardworking player.

One of his fondest memories as a young hockey player was in his last year of midget, when his team beat their rivals in the playoffs, leading his team to play in the north finals.

Wareham chose to come to Golden because he liked the town when he stayed here once on vacation, and because an old friend of his was also trying out for the Rockets this year.

On the ice, Wareham is always putting the team first, and in the dressing room he keeps a positive attitude, adding to the mix of good teammates on the Golden Rockets.

“I like the team. It’s a great group of guys. I think we’re really gelling together as a team,” he said.

Next season, Wareham hopes to play in Junior A hockey.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to play hockey for as long as I can, and then go to school.

What is your greatest strength as a player?

My greatest strength is making a good first pass out of the D-zone.

On your team, who is most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse?

Dylan Ushowski is most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse because he is from a pretty small town, so he probably knows how to survive on low amounts of resources.

If you had one superpower, what would you choose?

If I had one super power, I would choose to be able to fly because then I wouldn’t have to walk anywhere.
