Braving the cold winds, a dedicated group of Terrace residents kicked off the new year with the first Terrace Resolution Run on Jan. 1.

Starting at the millennium trail, they conquered a variety of distances, with eight runners trekking an impressive 17 kilometres on the first day of 2017.

The run was the first of its kind in Terrace, and included ten people who have been doing regular drop-in group runs since November.

But ten of the New Years runners hadn’t been out before and organizer Joe Pelletier said he was thrilled to have that many people turn out, particularly since it was a cold and busy day in Terrace.

The eight who conquered 17 kilometres included Joe Pelletier, Brent Webb, Stacey Primosch, Adam Brown, James Clay, Shirley Nichol, Derek Flynn and newcomer Peter Furlong.

Group runs continue throughout the year for anyone interested. For more information check out the Running in Terrace facebook page.
