Former Okanagan Sun football coach Pete McCall has been named the head coach for Football B.C.’s provincial Under-15 team that will compete in the FBU National Championship tournament beginning in December.
The FBU National Championship is a single-elimination tournament with the final four teams in each respective division competing in San Antonio, Texas as part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Week in early January 2014.
The U-15 Team B.C. which will be competing in the Grade 8 division.
McCall is currently in his second stint as head coach of the Rutland Voodoos football program.
A former All-American defensive back at Dickinson State, McCall’s first coaching gig came as a defensive backs coach with the CJFL National Champion Okanagan Sun in 2000. He moved on to become head coach of the Voodoos from 2002 to 2008 earning the Scholastic Coach of the Year honours in 2007 at the BC Lions Orange Helmet Awards.
He rejoined the Sun for two seasons from 2009 to 2010 as their head coach guiding them to a 15-5 regular season record while being named the CJFL Coach of the Year in 2010. He would return to the Voodoos beginning in the 2011 season.
