Word on the dock is that Comox is quickly becoming a force in the B.C. sailing circuit.
The Comox Bay Sailing Club is once again proud to announce another top place finish at the National Bank Easter Seals WAVES Regatta held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club June 23-24. With a Nett score of 12, Theo Truax and Chris Volkers handily captured first place in the 420 Fleet – with teammates Alex Brown and Oliver Barry placing second. Sally Brown and Nathanial Bell rounded out the 420 team with club members Alison Stocks and Richard Barry competing in the Laser Fleet.
The National Bank Easter Seals Waves Regatta is the largest sanctioned charity regatta on the West Coast; this year’s regatta featured five race courses and 16 fleets with over 100 boats on the water.
In addition to the top place finishers, Sam Gregson, Aidan Collins, Sally and Max Brown and Nigel Fletcher have also qualified for the BC Summer Games; this will be the largest contingent of junior sailors representing the Comox Valley in recent history.
The club’s keelboat division is also pleased to announce another one-two finish (first in division and second overall) posted by Andiamo at last weekend’s 2012 Cutty Sark SIN Regatta in Nanaimo.
