Skip David Long’s Salmon Arm Curling Club rink won the Regional Mixed Playdowns hosted by the Revelstoke Curling Club on Feb 24–26, defeating Brian Essington’s Vernon Curling Club rink in the final match. The Salmon Arm rink was Skip David Long, Sandra Jenkins – third, Tracey LaTosky – lead, and Jared Jones – second.
Revelstoke Curling Club president Brian Lecompte represented Revelstoke in the mixed playdowns, but they didn’t make it to the finals. Lecompte said the competition featured “a high calibre of curling.
“I think everyone enjoyed themselves,” Lecompte said. “I think everybody enjoyed the community.”
Rinks representing Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Penticton, Vernon, Kelowna and Revelstoke participated in the CurlBC-sanctioned event. David Long’s rink will now represent Zones 3, 4 and 7 at the B.C. Provincial Mixed Playdowns in Nanaimo on March 15–18.
