Schooner Cove fall races underway

Fall Colours Series brings out the boats for some close competition off the mid-Island

The Schooner Cove Yacht Club has kicked off their fall season and is now two races deep into the Fall Colours Series.

The Fall Colours Series consists of seven races scheduled on alternate weekends, which started on Sept. 21 and will be ending on Dec. 14.

Race one saw five boats in the fleet make a downwind start and had their spinnakers deployed at the start line or soon after. They proceeded in this fashion for leg one to Ruth Island and leg two to Winchelsea Island.

After the fourth and final leg, four of the five entrants crossed the finish line within the four-hour time limit.
