Scotties: What’s on tap at the national curling event on Monday

Scotties Tournament of Hearts events in Penticton on Jan. 29

Key games will be played today at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts as teams that have gone undefeated so far will be matched up together.

Who to watch:

The Wild Card entry will face Saskatchewan on Sheet D at the 9 a.m. draw today. Also playing at the time is Northern Ontario versus Yukon on Sheet A, New Brunswick versus Northwest Territories on Sheet B and Nova Scotia versus the undefeated Pool A team — Manitoba.

There will be a pair of big matches during the 2 p.m. draw. The two undefeated teams from Pool B, Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador will go head-to-head on Sheet A. On Sheet B, the host team will go up against the youngest team in the Scotties — Team Quebec. Prince Edward Island will meet Ontario on Sheet C and Nunavut will play Team Canada on Sheet D.

At 7 p.m. the final draw of the day features, Northwest Territories versus Newfoundland and Labrador on Sheet A, Northern Ontario against the Wild Card on Sheet B, Saskatchewan against Yukon on Sheet C and Nova Scotia versus New Brunswick on Sheet D.

Where’s the party at?

At 5:30 p.m., curlers from Team Nunavut, Team Newfoundland and Labrador and Team Prince Edward Island will visit the HeartStop Lounge at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre to sign autographs and take photos with fans at 5:30 p.m.

The Sunday up close and personal session features curlers from Alberta, Quebec and British Columbia being interviewed in the HeartStop Lounge at 5:30 p.m.
