Facing nine different pitchers — who each worked an inning — kept the Langley Senior Blaze out of their rhythm and the result was a 5-0 loss to the Victoria Harbourcats on Saturday in the provincial capital.
But the Blaze had their revenge, doubling the ’Cats 10-5 in the rematch on Sunday in Duncan.
Victoria scored three unearned runs of Langley pitcher Jesse Peters in the second inning and that was more than enough offence in the shutout win.
The Langley bats came alive on Sunday with both Scott Webster and Joe Germaine hitting solo home runs in the 10-5 victory.
Jacob Yousif also came up with a pair of RBIs.
Louis Boyd, Peters, Clayton Howell, Tristan Graham and Riley MacDonald each drove in one run.
Shane Kraemer was the winning pitcher, working two scoreless innings.
As a team, Langley pitchers struck out seven Victoria batters.
The Blaze are in Grand Forks this weekend for the Grand Forks Invitational.
The tournament runs June 26 to June 30.
