Congratulations to the Barriere Secondary Girls Basketball Team on their third place finish in last weekend’s Cougar Classic.

The girls played three solid games on their way to the finish. On Friday they played Fort St. James and shot the lights out; literally, there was a power outage. The girls won handily 74 – 18 and were led by Tyra Noble with 31 points.

On Saturday Barriere lost to the tournament winners George Elliot in a close game 45 – 56. Jordan Bauer led the team with 10 points.

Taylynn Eustache takes the ball.

In the final game, the girls played Pemberton and won 54 – 49. The girls were led by Taylynn Eustache who scored 19 points. Tyra Noble received the tournament All-star award for her efforts and the girls took home the third place trophy.

Come out and support the girls on Jan. 25, as they host Ashcroft at 5 p.m. in the BSS gym.
