Scott Trapp Stick it to Cancer Memorial Tournament was a huge success Saturday bringing together the community toward a collective cause.
The ball hockey tournament is named after Scott Trapp, a Langley resident who lost his battle to cancer at the age of 20.
The tournament consisted of 25 teams, 16 men and 9 women’s teams.
SAFTB won the men’s tier one division, Nicholas and Company took home the men’s tier two division while Love Deke won the women’s division.
“The event was a huge success, we had amazing weather and support from the community” said Blake Connell, event organizer. “In the end we raised our goal of $45,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.”
The day was filled with competitive ball hockey, raffle prizes, entertainment from the UBC Dance Team and barbecue food.
“The atmosphere was electric today, it was fun getting out in the sunshine and just playing ball hockey for a good cause” said tournament participant, Eric Rossi.
