The BC Summer Games swimming events were held July 20-21 at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre. Representing the Comox Valley Aquatic Club Sharks were Ethan Ashley, Josh Dolman and Ben Neufeld. Representing Campbell River was Connor Skuse.

Ethan swam well bettering his times in the 200 IM, the 100 fly, and a whopping 9.46 second drop in his 400 freestyle. Ethan trained  hard for this and was happy to be part of the “winning” team.

Josh Dolman went 100 per cent personal best times. He said, “It was the most fun swim meet I’ve ever been to….having Ethan and Ben there also added to the experience…”

Josh made finals in the 50 free, 200 butterfly, 100 butterfly and the 100 back.

Josh swam some of his best swims including an impressive 200 AAA fly time. It was a very positive experience all around for him and the “highlight of his summer.”

Ben swam great, winning the 200 back and making finals in the 400 IM, the 100 butterfly, and the 200 IM. Ben managed a super drop of 15.18 seconds in his 400 IM.

The swimmers did their club and the zone proud. Thank you to all of our supporters.
