Seven Comox Valley Sharks qualified for the Swim BC AAA Short Course Provincial Championships, March 2 to 5 in Victoria.

The team consisted of 11-year-olds Savanna Hall, Laine Perry and Jordan Raume, 12-year-old Iris Tinmouth, 15-year-olds JC Drygasuk and Eric Jung, and 16-year-old Gabrielle Wolfe.

Savanna, Laine and Iris swam best times in the 800m freestyle. JC took off 21 seconds in the 1,500m free and Jordan 46 seconds in the 800m free. Sharks relay teams claimed two new club records in the 12 and under girls, and 18 and under boys 800m freestyle relays.

Day 2 ended with best times from Laine, Savanna, Iris, Jordan and JC. The 12 and under girls claimed another club record in the 200m freestyle relay.

Day 3 continued with best times from Savanna, Laine, Jordan and Gabrielle, where she finished 15th in 400m individual medley finals.

Day 4, the final day, concluded with best-time swims and top 16 finishes from Savanna (50m free), Laine (200m free), Iris (200m free and 100m butterfly), Eric (200m breast) and Gabrielle (100m butterfly).

JC and Jordan finished the weekend off with finals and best times in the 200m freestyle.
