Sicamous Novice Predators take 7-3 win against Vernon Dynamiters.

The Sicamous Novice Predators hosted the Vernon Dynamite on Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Sicamous arena.

Predators centre Jacob Dewitt opened the scoring at 12 minutes of the first period on some nice passing from Dylan Peter and Korbin Forsyth for the only goal of the first period.

Sicamous forwards Ali Logan and Daphne Miller had several good scoring chances, but the Vernon goalie made great saves to keep the game close.

Vernon tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period before Sicamous forward Madison scored two goals, in a span of 40 seconds, to regain the lead. Daphne Miller assisted on the first goal and the second was an unassisted marker.

Vernon scored next to narrow the score to 4-2 for Sicamous before Predator Korbin Forsyth took over the game and scored the first of his four goals to make the score 5-2 after two periods.

Forsyth scored early in the third period, assisted by Madison Dewitt and Daryan St. Louis, and then added his third goal two minutes later, assisted by Colton Fleming, to make the score 6-3.

Forsyth scored again three minutes later, assisted by St. Louis again, making the score 7-3 for Sicamous. Vernon scored one more late goal, but the Sicamous defense of Noah Sutherland and Alex Dunnett did a great job of not allowing Vernon shots on net. Sicamous goalie Scott Rokosh made several great stops to seal the win.

Sicamous forward Korbin Forsyth had a great game with four goals and one assist, with Madison Dewitt having two goals and an assist.

The Sicamous Novice Predators next game is on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 10:45 a.m. versus Chase. The community is invited to come out and cheer on the home team.
