Many sports have concluded for the season, but opportunities remain to enjoy summer recreation

Many sports have concluded for the season, but opportunities remain to enjoy summer recreation. A selection of some of the sports camps offered is listed below:

• Mandella Summer Programming Outdoor Pursuits, ages 10 to 13. Enjoy hiking while learning about local wildlife. Other activities will include geocaching, games, outdoor sports and nature art. Running July 8 to 12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Downtown Activity Centre. Contact Leah at 250-832-0108.

• Shuswap Minor Football Association is once again hosting the JR Redmond Agility Camp, July 8 to 12 from noon to 3 p.m.  at the Salmon Arm Secondary Sullivan campus field, 12 years and up. Contact Shannon at shanq@telus.net to confirm attendance. Check out: www.justruntraining.com.

• Shuswap Youth Soccer Association, go to shuswapsoccer.com.

• European Football School, a soccer school of excellence, July 22 to 26 at Blackburn Park,  U8 to U13,  9 to 11 a.m.; U14 to U18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., employs a European soccer fitness philosophy with a well-structured program of technical and tactical skills developed by EFS coaches. • Girls Only Soccer Camps: U6 to U10: July 8-12, U11 to U14: July 15-19. 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Deadline for registration closed but room may still be available, email Tricia Martin at triciamart@telus.net.

• Goalie Camp: Join TRU goal keeper Travis Froehlich for a four-day goalie camp, Tuesday, July 30 to Friday, Aug. 2. Camp sessions are 10 a.m. to noon at Blackburn Park.

• Whitecaps

Skills Camp for boys and girls, U6 to U14. Age-specific soccer training for all skill levels,  9 to 11 a.m., Aug. 12 to 16, Blackburn Park, specialized instruction. Register at whitecaps.com/okcamps, or call 250-550-5489.

• Salmon Arm Hockey School runs a variety of hockey camps in August for all ages and skill levels. Programs range from fundamental skills to elite prep rep school. Go to www.salmonarmhockeyschool.com

• Epic Sports Academy Multi Sports Camp: variety of sports, play games, make new friends, improve skill. Volleyball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, softball, track, badminton, juggling, karate and floor hockey.  South Broadview Elementary, July 15 to 19, ages seven to 12, boys and girls, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Greg at 250-546-0328.

•Epic Sports Academy Minor Games Camp: warm-up games, dodge ball, skittle ball, European handball, mash ball, sniper, relays, ultimate frisbee, fireball, South Broadview Elementary, Aug. 12 to 16, ages seven to 12 boys and girls, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 250-546-0328.

•Dakshina Yoga

• Day camps and intro classes, paddle boarding, slack-lining, yoga, girls 11 to 15, July 2 to 4 (and 5 optional) 9:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.
