Grade 8 boys team loses in finals of the Skyhawks Invitational basketball tournament

Foul trouble caught up to the H.D. Stafford Skyhawks.

Playing in the championship final of the first Skyhawk Invitational Grade 8 boys’ basketball tournament on Saturday afternoon, Stafford hung tough for much of the game against the Eugene Reimer Ravens, but the Abbotsford visitors pulled away  in the end to win by a dozen points, 37-25.

Other teams at the tournament included Panorama Ridge, Archhbishop Carney and Chief Dan George.

The Skyhawks beat Panorama Ridge twice and also defeated Chief Dan George. Luke Smith, Sheldon Gangloff, Pandeep Heyer, Heongjoo Yoo and Nathan King earning player of the game honours.
