The Creston Valley Slow Pitch Association has been around for over 25 years and has always prided itself with helping out the parks that it plays on. Over the years, money and man hours have been donated to Kinsmen, Lister, Canyon and Centennial parks.

This year, a cash donation has been promised to Lister ball diamond and the purchase of permanent bases for all parks has been completed. Last week, the diamonds were measured off and members of the Coffin Dodgers 50-plus slo-pitch team installed permanent bases, including a safe base at first. The purchase of the bases was made possible by donations from Kal Tire and Integra Tire.

In other slo-pitch news, there are plans to start a seniors fall league. This would run from after the September long weekend to the Thanksgiving long weekend. Plans are to try and have a seniors division in the league next year.
