Smith brothers hurtle to top times

Four Salmon Arm youths on the Revelstoke Ski Team took part in a recent race at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops.

Four Salmon Arm youths on the Revelstoke Ski Team took part in a recent race at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops.

Racing were brothers Mitch and Cole Smith, Max Scharf and Thea Peasgood.

In the 15/16 boys, Cole Smith placed third, second and third respectively in races one, two and three.

In the 13/14 boys, brother Mitch placed fourth, fourth and first.

During the final race on Sunday, the boys were racing on the same course in different age classes.

The race was a two-run race with cumulative times.

After the first race, little brother Mitch was ahead of his older brother by .26 of a second.

The second run turned into a brotherly grudge competition, and older brother Cole ended up beating his brother Mitchell by 9/100 of a second overall for the two races.

Mitch ended up winning his age class and Cole ended up third in his.

Max Scharf placed seventh, eighth and fourth in the 13/14 boys category.

In the 11/12 girls, Thea Peasgood tallied placings of 24th, 22nd and 20th in her three races.
