You couldn’t ask for more. Come from behind wins; local team taking the final game against arch rivals.

And how about a 16-year-old one-legged goalie dominating the final game?

It was everything local organizers could ask for. Tournament director Suzanne Rourke was hoping for a good competition and what she got was an excellent start to the season for the 14 squads that showed up to the Civic Centre and the new arena.

All regional teams were in attendance and the tournament got a boost with crews from Sunshine Coast and Fort Saint John.

“It’s our first time up here and it’s good to see some other teams we don’t always get to play,” said Sunshine Coast Blues assistant coach Brad Winfield.

“We all had a great time here. We did some touring and saw Twin Falls; not just hockey games,” added rookie head coach Paul Pipke.
