Area youth in U4 to U13 age groups are excited about the Lead Wolf Selects Soccer Academy currently available every Friday night at the Ridge in Barriere.
The program offers advanced skills development in the popular sport of soccer, providing training in soccer skills and techniques, life skills and leadership, plus fitness and development.
Head coach for the program is Louise Sims, a former elite University athlete, amateur body builder, and Premier League soccer player and coach.
Cost of the program is $30 per child per month. If there is more than one child per family, each additional child is $20 per month.
The program started in October and runs until Apr. 4, and organizers say there is still time for youth to register and participate in the program. The time schedule for each age group is as follows:
• Preschoolers U4-U5: 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
• K-1 U6 – U7: 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Grades 2-3 U8-U9: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Grades 4-5 U10-U13: 5 p.m. -to 6 p.m.
• Grades 6-7 U12-U13: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Gear required for participants includes a water bottle, running shoes and shin guards
