The third week of play in the South Cariboo Minor Soccer Association saw teams throughout the region competing under sunny skies and in warm weather more reminiscent of June than April. The hot temperatures didn’t dampen the spirits of the players, however, who played matches in Ashcroft, Logan Lake, and Lillooet.
In U7 play, where score is not kept, JD Flagging took on Clinton Home Building Centre in Ashcroft, while Cache Creek Veterinary Hospital and Logan Lake 2 met in Logan Lake. U10 action saw two matches in Ashcroft, with A&W defeating Dairy Queen 3–2 and Lillooet 1 blanking Logan Lake 1 8–0. Logan Lake 2 went down to a 4–0 defeat in their hometown to Subway, while Lillooet 2 lost a close-fought 1–0 match against Graymont in Lillooet.
The U13 division saw Interior Savings defeating Irly Building Centre 4–1, and Logan Lake 1 winning 2–0 over Lillooet 1 (both matches were played in Ashcroft). Two home teams were victorious, with Logan Lake 2 defeating Second Time Around 2–0 and Lillooet 2 shutting out Safety Mart 6–0. The single U16 match of the week saw Lillooet routing CUPE by a score of 8–0.
The U10 and U16 teams play on Mondays, with the U7 and U13 playing on Wednesdays. Members of the public are invited to come out and enjoy the fine spring weather while cheering on our local athletes.
