It’s soccer Saturday at Topaz Park at the sixth annual Anneswer To Cancer family tournament.
This year’s tourney kicks off with a minis tournament starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by the main family soccer tournament starting at 1 p.m.
The event works to raise funds for Victoria Hospice to help support end-of-life care in our community, and brought in $45,000 last year with a goal of $50,000 this year.
Anneswer to Cancer was started by Brett Hyslop, whose mother Anne passed away at Victoria Hospice in 2010 due to mesothilioma, a cancer caused by asbestos.
Tournament check-in is at noon until 12:45 p.m. The “family level” (seven-years and up) soccer tournament runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Teams compete in fun games and contests to raise funds and win prizes.
