This weekend the two local high schools will be hosting various teams throughout the region in a round robin soccer tournament.
Both senior and junior teams will be participating with teams travelling to the lakecity from Vanderhoof, Fort St. James and 100 Mile House.
“There aren’t very many tournaments available for teams in the Interior region so it’s nice for us to all get together,” said Columneetza coach Caitlin Day.
Games will be played Friday afternoon and all day Saturday on both the Columneetza and Williams Lake secondary soccer fields.
In addition, the lakecity will be busy with soccer the next couple of weeks as Williams Lake secondary is organizing the ‘AA’ zone soccer championships to take place from May 15-17.
“Any support we can get from the community would be great,” Day said. “Come on out and support your local high school teams.”
