The Kamloops Heat – made up of current and former members of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s soccer team, won bronze at a weekend tournament March 8 and 9 in Surrey. After losing 2-0 to the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday, the Heat downed the host Kwantlen Polytechnic University Eagles 4-0 on Sunday.
“It was a great day for soccer and the boys were primed to play,” said Heat head coach Sean Wallace, who is the co-head coach of the WolfPack squad.
Keeper Travis Froehlich, Salmon Arm Secondary grad, got the shutout Sunday.
