Sonics stuff Maroons for title

The Seaton Sonics stuffed the Fulton Maroons 5-0 in North Zone Junior Girls Soccer League play.

 

The Seaton Sonics stuffed the Fulton Maroons 5-0 Wednesday in North Zone Junior Girls Soccer League play at MacDonald Park.

Seaton finished at 4-0 to take the zone crown. The playoffs start Monday with the Sonics facing the Kalamalka Lakers and VSS Panthers playing Salmon Arm Golds.

The Sonics take on the fourth-place Kal Lakers (0-3-1), while the second-place  Panthers (3-1) going up against the third-place Golds (1-1-2). The zone final goes Wednesday with three berths up for grabs in the Okanagan Valley Championships.

Meanwhile, the Fulton senior girls got four goals from Cayleigh Graham in a 6-0 swamping of VSS Tuesday.

Morgan Binns and Ashley Glinsbockel also scored for the Maroons, who had Brittany Skrenek and Chayse Neumann in goal.

Fulton advances to the Valley finals starting Monday in Kamloops. The Maroons  have six juniors on their roster, including Graham, Glinsbockel, Madison Catt, Erin Delaney, Abbey Hughes and Paige Latta.
