Things have moved right along at the arena since the fire inside the mechanical/sprinkler room at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre on July 28.
Following the fire, Canlan Ice Sports manager Josh Dickerson and 100 Mile House Fire Rescue chief Roger Hollander assessed the damage and it was decided the arena will be closed to the public until it can be determined what caused the fire.
The fire damaged the pump that boosts the pressure in the sprinkler lines, but that was the only damage.
Dickerson says the contractor had to complete some work so the arena could be opened to the public in time for Canlan Ice Sports summer hockey camps on Aug. 22.
Opening to the general public was approved by 100 Mile House Fire Rescue and the Cariboo Regional District (CRD).
Staff had the Wranglers logo and the line painted on Aug. 17 and the last flood is on now.
