A handful of Pacific Sea Wolves’ swimmers had strong results in the water at an invitational meet hosted by the club last weekend at Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre.
Renae Ledoux won a pair of gold medals, in the 100- and 200-m breaststroke – and had a personal-best time in the 200 – while Amaris Gutierrez Sandoval swam to personal bests in the 100- and 200-m butterfly events.
“I was so excited to get up and race with my teammates… it was thrilling to race along with some of Team Canada’s swimmers,” Ledoux said in a PSW news release issued this week.
The two-day Winter Invitational Competition featured 250 top young swimmers from throughout B.C. and Alberta.
Elsewhere in the pool, PSW’s Eva Wen, 12, made the final in both the 50- and 100-m freestyle competitions, and Mirah Biffart knocked a full 10 seconds off her previous personal-best time in the 800-m freestyle.
The Winter Invitational marked the first time that the Sea Wolves had hosted a meet of that calibre, the news release notes.
