Chilliwack’s Spartan swim club took 33 athletes to New Westminster last weekend for the Hyack Invitational swim meet.
The meet was host to 400 swimmers from around the Lower Mainland.
Jessie Gibson (12 and under girls) led the locals, finishing first in the 200m fly and 400m individual medley, adding a second place showing in the 100m fly and third in the 400m freestyle and 100 and 200m breaststrokes.
In the same division, Emily Henderson placed third in the 50m freestyle, fifth in the 100m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 100m fly and sixth in the 200m freestyle.
In the 13 and 14 year old girls division, Sydney Torok battled her way to a sixth place finish in the 800m freestyle.
Alana See (15-and-over girls) placed fourth in the 800m freestyle, followed by Kelsey Langille in seventh and Nicole Mulligan in eighth.
On the boys side Jordan Torok (15-and-over boys) splashed to first in the 1500m freestyle, adding a third in teh 200m freestyle, sixth in the 400m freestyle, seventh in the 100m fly and eighth in the 200m individual medley.
In the same grou, Daniel Duncombe placed third in the 1500m freestyle, with Jimmy Stewart close behind in fourth.
Among the 13 and 14 year old boys, Grayson Bukkos finished sixth in the 100m fly, seventh in the 50m freestyle and eighth in the 200m freestyle.
Carson Olafson placed second in the 400m freestyle, third in the 100m backstroke and fourth in the 200m backstroke and 100 and 200m freestyles.
Colton Peterson showed great strength finishing second in the 100m breaststroke, adding a third in the 100m fly and the 100, 200 and 400m freestyles.
He finished fourth in the 50m freestyle.
