Penticton’s White Kennedy midget rec Vees are headed to the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association championship in Logan Lake this weekend.

The Vees captured the OMAHA playoff championship over the weekend with a sweep of regular season champs, Kelowna team 7.

The Vees won 9-5 at home on Saturday night behind a four-goal performance from Logan Robertson. They followed that up with a 5-1 win at Prospera Place in Kelowna behind a three-point night from playoff scoring leader Tyran Robertson. Robertson has amassed 24 points in nine playoff games. The Vees were led by the line of Logan and Tyran Robertson and Keaton DesRoches who combined for eight goals and 19 points in the final two games to add to their total of 62 points in nine playoff games.

Speedway atom development wins championship

The Penticton Speedway atom development Vees topped a season that saw them finish first in the OMAHA regular season with a playoff championship. The team traveled to Salmon Arm playing five games in three days facing, Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops peewee girls, which was one of their toughest games of the playoffs, Summerlnad and faced Kelowna in the final. The Speedway Vees went 5-0. Scoring for the Vees in the championship were Scott Fotheringham, Kieran Roy and Mark Andrews with two goals each, Lucas Byrne, Carter Milton and Brendan Lobb with a goal each. Ethan Konyi played goal.
