Salmon Arm Golf Club’s Doug Herron, Dale Machesney and Ryan Stugis were among the golf pros in the Shuswap who took part in the 2012 PGA of BC Golf A Thon for ALS.

It was a busy day. The pros golfed as many holes as possible to raise awareness and funds for ALS.

Starting at 6 a.m. and playing to dusk, Stugis played the quickest round at 46 minutes.

“It messes them up for weeks,” said marketing manager Rebecca Scott. “Because you start thinking you have to swing fast, so when you play regular golf you keep swinging fast.”

On the par 72 course, Herron shot the lowest at 67 and Machesney the highest at 77.

“They all did really well; we’re really proud of them,” said Scott. “They raised close to $1,000 for ALS.”
