Atoms undefeated

The L. Turner Contracting Atom Silverbacks hockey team defeated the Summerland Jets this weekend to cap off a perfect 15-0 regular season in league play. The Silverbacks will enter next month’s playoffs as the number-one seed, with the hope of continuing their winning ways and capturing the playoff championship, to be hosted in Osoyoos.

Curling Provincials

The Salmon Arm Curling Centre will host the 2017 BC Provincial Senior Men and Senior Ladies Curling Championships beginning on Feb. 21.

Team Jenkins from the Salmon Arm Curling Club secured their berth into the provincial championships at the recent district playdowns in Kelowna. The team consists of: Skip Sandra Jenkins, Third Kate Horne, Second Wendy Cseke and Lead Carol Murray.

Wrestling provincials

BC High School Wrestling Provincials will be held at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm from March 2 to 4.

Hit to fit

Tickets are on sale for the Salmon Arm Bulldogs Boxing Club Hit to Fit fundraiser, to be held at the Westgate Public Market Saturday, March 11.

Dancing stars

Interested in helping with the costs of expanding the Larch Hills Chalet?

The Dancing with the Stars committee is asking people interested in taking to the dance floor as contestants for the 2017 event – as either a single or couple – to get in touch with Ingalise Abbott, the recruitment chair for the event. This year’s fundraising event will take place on Nov. 17.

Bridge Results

The winners for Tuesday Feb. 7 were: First Stephen Raffel and Al Christie, second Doreen and Dennis Roberts and third Barbara Grier and Gene Demens.

The winners for Thursday, Feb. 9 were: First Betty and Charlie Ward, second Arlene and Bert Lamoureax and third Ona Bouchard and Ruth Embree.
