A summary of sports action lined up for the next week in Salmon Arm

Junior Golds basketball

There is a Junior Boys basketball tournament next weekend, Dec. 9  and 10, at the Sullivan campus of Salmon Arm Secondary.

The Salmon Arm Jr. Boys play Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. There is also a game at 4:30, and games Dec. 10 at 9, 10:30, and noon.

Salmon Arm Grade 9 Boys play Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Playoff games are Dec. 10 at 3, 4:30  6 p.m.

SAS basketball homecoming

The tournament will be held at the Sullivan campus gym on Dec. 22 and 23. To register or for more information, contact Rhys Waters at rwaters@sd83.bc.ca.

Junior girls’ club volleyball

There will be an information meeting at Shuswap Middle School Library this Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7p.m. for any girls born in 2001-2004 interested in playing club volleyball. For more information, please contact Suzy Beckner at 250-253-1089.

Mostat traded to West Kelowna

The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club has acquired forward Logan Mostat, a Salmon Arm local, (’97) and future considerations from the Surrey Eagles in exchange for goaltender Keelan Williams (’96).

Mostat, 19, is in his second season with the Eagles, with 11 goals and 24 points in 31 games so far in the 2016/17 season to go along with 21 penalty minutes. Over his BCHL career with Surrey and affiliating with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, Mostat has played in 59 games with 15 goals and 33 points plus 33 penalty minutes.
