Track and Field

Several students from Quesnel junior school distinguished themselves last weekend at the Sub Zero Track Meet in Prince George.

In the 100m dash, Cheyann Newman earned second place with a time of 14.24 and Regan Richert took 11th with a time of 16.74.

In the 300m dash Newman took second with a time of 48.71.

Newman also collected a second-place finish in the 80m hurdles, a second place in high jump with a jump of 1.3m, a fourth-place finish in long jump with a distance of 4.01m and a second place in triple jump and javelin.

Regan Richert earned a fourth place finish in 80m hurdles.

Trinity Miles earned a second place finish in high jump, also with a height of 1.3m.

Megan Mufford finished sixth in long jump with a distance of 3.77m. Mufford also collected a fifth place finish in the triple jump.

Darby Sutton finished first in javelin on the girl’s side and Brayden McCall took first on the boy’s side.

BC Cup

Eli Jarvis and Lane Vanwetering were selected for the U17 BC Cup scheduled for  May 11 – 15 in Salmon Arm.
