BRIDGE LAKE STAMPEDE

The 67th Annual Bridge Lake Stampede will be running from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bridge Lake Rodeo Grounds off the Bridge Lake Access Road on July 2. Pancake breakfasts will be available while slack events go until noon. Main events will be featured until 4:30 p.m. along with children events, including a pig scramble. The Skid Marks will be performing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Free camping is available. Information: Jamie Law at 250-945-4545.

WRANGLERS SEASON TICKETS

Season tickets for the 100 Mile House Wranglers Junior B hockey club games have gone on sale.

Adult regular season tickets are $241.50 each, while students and seniors regular season tickets go for $183.75.

Folks will want to purchase their tickets early for the best seats to watch the defending Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, Cyclone Taylor Cup and Keystone Cup champions in action this season.

WRANGLERS GOLF SCRAMBLE

The 2016 Western Canada, British Columbia and Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Champions will be hosting a golf scramble fundraiser on July 16 at 108 Golf Resort.

The entry fee is $85 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, power cart rental and dinner auction.

Dinner will be held at the 100 Mile Community Hall with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30. Dinner only tickets are $55 each.

There will be a ring ceremony celebrating the Wranglers as Western Canada Champions.

Tickets are available at Central GM and Sears.

ANNUAL MODEL FLYERS

The 100 Mile Model Flyers Club of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada will be hosting its annual fun fly event on July 23-24.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the 100 Mile Flying Field on 900 Ainsworth Road south of 100 Mile House at 99 Mile. There will be no entry fee.

OLYMPIC MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

After a 24-year drought, Canada’s men’s volleyball team will be going back to the Olympics.

Canada defeated China in five sets on June 5 at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan. John Gordon Perrin scored 27 points, while Gavin Schmitt secured 23 points for Canada. The team will compete in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on Aug. 6.

CO-ED DROP-IN SOCCER

The 100 Mile Adult Soccer group will be hosting co-ed drop in soccer every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the 100 Mile soccer fields.

All skill levels are welcome and cleats and shin guards are not required but they are encouraged. Drop in rates are $5 per game or $35 for the season.
