Interesting tidbits of sports news and schedules Free Press sports fans will want to know

SOCCER PLAYERS

Any soccer players, aged four to 18 years, who are not registered with the 100 Mile House & District Soccer Association, are asked to register at Borgos’ Sport Shack or Jean’s Place.

Today (March 31) is the deadline for registration.

Players who want to register on April 1 and after, will have to pay a $40 late fee and can only be placed on an established team if there are spots open.

WRANGLERS PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

The Okanagan/Shuswap Conference champions, 100 Mile House Wranglers, will be hosting the Kootenay Conference champions, Kimberley Dynamiters, in game 5 of the 2016 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Championship tonight (March 31). The puck drops at 7 p.m.

If necessary, the series will shift back to Kimberley for games 6 and 7 on April 2 and 3. The games will start at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.

 

SOCCER REFEREES

Have you considered becoming a referee?

Training is provided and you will be paid for your work on the soccer fields.

GRAPPLERS COMING

ECCW Gold Rush professional wrestling is coming to the 100 Mile Community Hall on April 13 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with the first bell at 7:30. See the stars of the ECCW, featuring Scotty Mac, Bishop, Drex, Air Adonis and Shreddz.

Tickets are $20 for general admission.
